One person has been transported to hospital following a crash near the Canberra Airport this morning.

At about 11.45am, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Pialligo Avenue and Scherger drive.

Firefighters arrived and worked to free one person using electric rescue tools.

That person was then treated on the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Pialligo avenue was partially blocked for about an hour until the scene was cleared.

ACT Policing were also in attendance.
