An elderly woman has been seriously injured following a crash at the Canberra Airport this afternoon.

At about 2.30pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a crash on Brindabella Circuit near George Tyson Drive.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics assessed an elderly lady who had suffered a serious lower limb injury and she was transported to hospital.

The carpark exit and surrounding road was partially closed while the scene was investigated by ACT Policing's Major Collison Team.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said enquiries in relation to the incident are continuing.
