Investigations remain ongoing after a man was found dead in Page on the weekend

ACT Policing has established a dedicated team to investigate the death of a 34- year-old man in Page on the weekend.

At about 9am Saturday morning police were called to a disturbance on Braine Street.

On arrival, police spoke with a man who had significant injuries, Police then identified another man who rushed towards them and was subsequently tasered at the scene.

A short time later, another injured person and a deceased person were located.

Three people, two men aged 28 and 36, and a 20-year-old woman, remain in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries they received during this incident.

The 36-year-old is the man police arrested on Saturday, however, no charges have been laid at this stage.

ACT Policing have established a team consisting of Criminal Investigations members with a wide range of policing expertise to investigate the incident.

The investigation would take time to complete due to its complex nature. "We have arrested the man we believe was responsible for this incident, but due to the nature of his injuries, and the injuries incurred by the two surviving Victims, it will be some time before we are able to speak further to them."

"The primary concern at the moment is the recovery of all the people injured and the investigation will progress once more information is available" Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said.

Police believe the offender used at least two knives in the initial attack and a crime scene remains in place in Braine Street while the forensic investigation of the area continues.

More than 20 witnesses have already been interviewed by detectives and a search warrant has been executed at the residence where the dead man was located.

Anyone who may have any information that has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
