The driver of a car has escaped serious injuries following a crash in Bywong this afternoon.

Just after 3.15pm ACT and NSW Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on Macs Reef Road.

Upon arrival they located a two-car accident with one vehicle on fire, all persons had safely evacuated from their vehicles.

Firefighters quickly got to work extinguishing the car and preventing its spread into nearby bushland.

ACT Fire and Rescue arrived a short time later and assisted in making the area safe.

The cause of the crash Is being investigated by NSW Police. There were no reports of any serious injuries.
