A man has been charged with high range drink driving offences following a crash in O'Connor overnight.

Just before 3am ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on the Belconnen Way near the intersection of Fairfax Street.

A man was assessed on scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and then transported to the City Police station where he allegedly blew a blood alcohol reading of 0.155.

A police spokesperson said the man was charged with drink driving, issued with an immediate suspension notice and will be summonsed to court at a later date.

ACT Fire and Rescue were also in attendance and made the area safe.
