A woman has been seriously injured following a crash in Weston this afternoon.

At approximately 12.30pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on Cotter Road near the Tuggeranong Parkway offramp.

Firefighter used hydraulic tools to remove the rear door of the vehicle to assist ACT Ambulance Service in removing the patient from the vehicle.

The woman was then assessed on scene and transported to hospital in a serious condition.

Cotter Road was closed in the Westbound direction for close to an hour until the scene was cleared.

ACT Policing are investigating the crash.
