Two people have been transported to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Pialligo this morning.

At approximately 9.45am, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports that a car and truck had collided on Pialligo avenue about 1km East of Scherger Drive.

One person required rescue from their vehicle by firefighters and both persons were transported to hospital with significant injuries.

ACT Policing's Major Collison investigation team were at the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The road was closed in both directions for several hours due to significant fluid spillage from both vehicles.
