Police investigate suspicious fire involving mobile traffic camera

ACT Policing have comenced an investigation into a fire involving a mobile traffic monitoring camera on Gungahlin Drive overnight.

At about 10pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a fire on Gungahlin Drive between the Barton Highway and Gininderra Drive.

Passing motorists used fire extingishers in an attempt to contain the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters.

Firefighters then worked to open the trailer and ensure the fire was completley extingished.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said that the fire has been deemed suspicious and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.
