One person has been transported to hospital following a unit fire in Lyons overnight.

At about 11.20pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire on Corinna Street.

Upon arrival firefighters located a working fire on the second level of a 3-storey unit block.

Firefighters were able to achieve fire control quickly with 3 fire appliances arriving at the scene within 10 minutes of the triple zero call.

One person was assessed by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours ensuring the fire was completely out.

Firefighters and police have investigated the cause of the fire and deemed it not suspicious.
