A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a crash in Phillip overnight.

At about 7.30pm, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on Launceston street at the intersection of Irving Street.

The rider was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics with significant leg injuries and was transported to hospital in a serious condition.

ACT Fire and Rescue attended the scene and provided support to the ambulance service and made the area safe.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team also attended the scene and have launched an investigation into the crash.

An ACT Policing Spokesperson said that the motorcycle was believed to have been stolen at the time of the crash.
