Police are investigating two house fires that occurred in Moncrieff overnight.

At about 9pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Dulcie Holland Crescent.

Upon arrival they located a garage alight with fire spread into the unit above and into the roof space.

A significant response from fire and rescue ensured that there was no spread to adjoining properties and the fire was contained after an hour.

There were no reports of serious injury as a result of the fire.

At about 12.30am, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Gussey Street in Moncrieff.

The fire was contained quickly and there were no reports of serious injury.

ACT Policing are investigating both house fires and the possibility that they may be linked.
