A 70-year-old man has been charged with murder following a stabbing at a residence in Bruce earlier this week.  

At about 5.40pm on Monday, 23 October 2023, police were called to a residence on Kinloch Circuit, Bruce following reports of a stabbing.    

A 65-year-old woman suffering stab wounds was pronounced deceased at the scene.    

The 70-year-old man was also located injured at the residence, and he was subsequently transported to hospital in a serious condition.  

A crime scene was established, and ACT Policing Homicide Detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.  

He was arrested by ACT Policing Homicide Squad detectives earlier today (Friday, 27 October 2023) and will be charged with murder during a bedside hearing this afternoon. 

Police have said there were no other people involved in the incident.
