A home in Kambah has been destroyed after fire ripped through the property yesterday afternoon.

At about 4.15pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Marconi Crescent.

Firefighters arrived to find the two-storey home well alight, Marconi Crescent was closed for several hours while firefighters woked to contain the fire.

4 pumpers, an aerial appliance, BA support and a commander responded to the scene and the fire was brought under control by about 5.15pm.

No occupants were home at the time of the fire.

Police and ambulance were also in attendance.
