A man has been charged following a crash in Ngunnawal yesterday.

Just before 8pm, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on the corner of Galmarra Street and Milari Street.

Upon arrival emergency services located a vehicle in the front garden of a home after it had collided with a street light.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said, the driver, a 22-year-old Lyneham man, initially fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Shortly after, the driver returned to the scene of the collision. He was arrested having been found to be in breach of bail and was charged with drive motor vehicle without consent.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
