Home destroyed by fire in Moncrieff

A home in Moncrieff has been destroyed by fire this evening.

At about 6.45pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Limb Circuit.

Upon arrival they located a home well alight with fire through the roof threatening nearby homes.

Firefighters from several stations worked for more then an hour to bring the fire under control.

An ACT ESA spokesperson said that the home has been destroyed and all occupants are safe and accounted for.

Firefighters remain on the scene tonight extinguishing hot spots.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
