Fire has destroyed a home in Holt this evening.

Just before 5pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Sellwood Street.

Upon arrival they found the home well alight, firefighters began a defensive attack from outside the home as the roof began to collapse.

One person was assessed by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics and transported to hospital.

The home was completely destroyed.

ACT Policing were also in attendance.
