ACT Policing have established a border checkpoint on the Barton Highway this morning.

Delays can be expected while entering the ACT, allow extra travel time especially during peak times.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said for each established site, Transport Canberra and City Services has authorised a Traffic Management Plan in consultation with ACT Policing, to ensure the safety of all road users and police officers during the operation.

ACT Policing will also be conducting Covid-19 compliance activities within the ACT.

“People will see random breath test style stations on roads across Canberra to ensure people are adhering to the Public Health Directions, particularly speaking with those that have interstate registered vehicles,” Detective Superintendent Smith said.
