Firefighters have extinguished a house fire in Palmerston overnight 

Just after 8pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Namadgi Circuit.

Upon arrival firefighters found a bedroom well alight with fire spreading into the roof and another room.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and prevent its further spread.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been an electrical item in the home

There were no reports of serious injuries.
