A teenager has been transported to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the Monaro Highway last night.

At approximately 6.30pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on the Monaro Highway at Richardson.

Firefighters worked with ACT Ambulance Service paramedics to stabilise the female patient in the vehicle before she was extricated and transported to hospital in a serious condition.

The road was down to one lane for a number of hours while police investigated the scene.
