A P-plater and his passenger have narrowly avoided serious injury following a crash on Mt Ainslie this afternoon.

At approximately 12.15pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on Mt Ainslie Drive near the summit of Mt Ainslie.

Upon arrival the vehicle was located wedged up against trees which had prevent the vehicle from rolling down the steep embankment.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics assessed two persons at the scene but neither required transport to hospital.

ACT Policing were also in attendance and are investigating the cause of the crash.
