A man has suffered significant burns following a house fire in Kaleen.

At about 2am ACT Emergency Services responded to Maribyrnong Avenue, Kaleen following reports of a house fire.

Firefighters arrived to find a home well alight, with fire through the roof of the premises.

A man could be seen with significant burns to his hands and face at the scene and was treated and transported to hospital, another woman was also transported to hospital.

Approximately 25 firefighters attended the scene, and the fire was brought under control after 90 minutes.

ACT Policing have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
