A 42-year-old man has escaped with only minor injuries following a crash in Wanniassa overnight.

Just before midnight, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on Drakeford Drive.

ACT Fire and Rescue attended the scene and firefighters used hydraulic tools to assist in the rescue of the man from the vehicle.

He was assessed at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have observed the blue Holden Commodore travelling along Drakeford Drive prior to the collision or who may have dash-cam footage.
