A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a crash on the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge this afternoon.

At about 12.50pm, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash in the Northbound lanes of Commonwealth Avenue in Yarralumla.

Emergency services arrived to find a motorcycle and sedan had collided.

The rider was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital in a serious condition.

Commonwealth avenue was closed northbound for several hours while ACT Policing’s Major Crash Team investigated the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision, and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
