Light plane crashes near Tharwa in Canberra's south

A light plane has flipped upside down in a crash south of Canberra this afternoon.

At about 3.30pm, ACT emergency services were called to a private grass runway off Tharwa Drive, Tharwa following a light aircraft crash.

Upon arrival emergency services located a single engine fixed wing aircraft was found upside down.

An ACT Policing Spokesperson said the sole occupant, the male pilot, received minor injuries and was attended to by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics, he was then transported to hospital in a stable condition.
